About The Play:
A Puerto Rican Story is an inspiring dramatic play set in the 1960’s that explores the emotional story of a family’s poignant journey to achieve the American dream. A Puerto Rican Story follows the journey of a young Puerto Rican family struggling to make ends meet and hoping for a fresh start in the gold paved streets of América. Uprooting their family from their island home, they make the transatlantic flight to Chicago. Together they will learn that assimilating into the American fabric and landscape will test not only their endurance but also their faith. A Puerto Rican Story is the remarkable account of one family’s unexpected hardships, sacrifices and triumphs.
